Sample Schedule of a UFE Student

Typically, the preparation for the UFE starts in October, with a kick off meeting so students can meet others in the offices that are also writing.

CKE Prep

  • October - December - Sundays 8-10 weeks - PASS Course
  • December - 2 week personal prep period for CKE
  • January - CKE Exam (Also available in May)
  • Schedule of a typical study day for the CKE
    • 9:00am - Multiple Choice Questions
    • 12:00pm - Lunch Break
    • 1:00pm - Review/Debriefing of morning questions
    • 5:00pm - End of day
    • No studying in the evenings/weekends

SOA Prep

  • 1st week of June - SOA Kick off
  • School of Accountancy - Month of June
    • 2 Practice Exams
    • Final Exam - End of June/beginning of July
  • Schedule of a typical study day for the SOA - Week 1
    • 8:30am to 4:30pm classes @ York
    • 5:00pm - Write a case
    • 6:30pm - Dinner
    • 7:30pm - 8:30/9:00pm - Debrief the Case
  • Schedule of a typical study day for the SOA - Week 2/3
    • Similar to week 1 except:
      • Practice Exam Debriefing One Night

UFE Prep

  • October - May - 4 Centrally Marked Exams to be written/marked
  • Last week of July/First week of August - Densmore UFE Prep Course
  • Mid August to mid September - 4 week personal prep period for UFE
  • September - UFE
  • Schedule of a typical study day for the multi-competency portion
    • 9:00am - Write Case 1
    • 10:30am - Debrief Case 1
    • 12:00pm - Lunch
    • 1:00pm - Write Case 2
    • 2:30pm - Debrief Case 2
    • 5:00pm - End of day
    • No studying evenings and weekends
  • Schedule of a typical study day for the comprehensive portion
    • One day a week a comprehensive exam should be written
      • 9:00am - Write Comprehensive Exam
      • 2:00pm - Lunch
      • 5:00pm - End of day
